You will serve as a Plumbing Worker in the Facilities Maintenance Division of MCRD ERR PI SC. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will remove, clean, replace, pack and seal broken tile pipe, frozen faucets, traps, unions, elbows, washers, shower heads, aerators and similar parts. You will unclog drains with plunger or snake. You will measure, bend, cut and thread pipe. You will hook up water heaters, disposal units and other appliances to existing systems. You will use tapes, ruler, hand and power pipe threaders and cutters, pipe wrenches and other tools.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
