This position is located in THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS), U. S. COAST GUARD (USCG), DEPUTY COMMANDANT FOR MISSION SUPPORT (DCMS), ASSISTANT COMMANDANT FOR ACQUISITION, PROJECT MANAGER OPC, located in Panama CIty, FL.

Duties

You will serve as a Production Controller under the general supervision of the Water Front Director, to oversee and coordinate the management of an entire ship's construction, testing, trials, and delivery through crew integration and ship load-out, sail away and the guarantee period. This position provides waterfront oversight in accordance with established procedures in support of surface ship design and construction programs.

Requirements

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires a mobility agreement.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal sector.  Examples of specialized experience may include:   Monitoring and evaluating progress for shipbuilding contracts. Monitoring the development and installation of ship systems. Conducting onsite reviews and surveys to evaluate a shipbuilder's technical compliance to requirements and regulations. Conducting studies and preparing engineering economic analyses of equipment planned for replacement, plant layout, material handling coordination, quality control planning tool designing, and industrial engineering. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
