The position serves administrative support for the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Research and the Administrative Officer (AO) for Research at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS). Primary assigned duties are management of extramural funding application for VA-affiliates research investigators.

Duties

Delegated institutional authority to approve and submit extramural funding applications for VA-sponsored research grants. Serve as a Signing Official for eRA Commons, managing affiliations for investigators in eRA. Determining and informing investigators on specific requests for applications (RFAs. Maintains a current list of active research investigators, matches research area of interest with Applications (RFAs) Notify potentially interested investigators of grant due dates and procedures for applying for research grants. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible Schedule: Available Telework: Yes, Position Description Title/PD#PD751930 and PD751940:: Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.

Time-in-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. (If you have not held a GS grade at any time in the past 52 weeks, this question does not apply to you.) For this vacancy, applicants must have held grade GS-7 or higher for at least one year to be eligible for the GS-9. For this vacancy, applicants must have held grade GS-9 or higher for at least one year to be eligible for the GS-11. The grade must have been held in the Federal service but may have been in any occupation. Provide a copy of your last or most recent SF-50, "Notification of Personnel Action" to indicate your current Federal employee status. You must also submit additional SF-50(s) to clearly demonstrate one-year time-in-grade as required in the announcement. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate that you possess one-year time-in-grade. In this instance, you should provide an additional SF-50 to clearly demonstrate one-year time-in-grade. Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, Specialized Experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized Experience for a Grants Management Specialist, GS-1109-9 is defined as experience reviewing, analyzing, and advising on grants policies, procedures, systems, regulations, proposed legislation, or advisory opinions. Specialized Experience for a Grants Management Specialist, GS-1109-11 is defined providing comprehensive review of extramural funding application to ensure that proposals are administratively and technically correct.
