You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The NT-05 pay band encompasses the GS-13/14 pay grades.The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043).

Duties

You will research, analyze, interpret, and advise on higher headquarters, Federal, State, and local environmental laws, regulations, and directives. You will apply knowledge of environmental protection principles, practices, regulations, policies, and procedures to identify problems and recommend solutions. You will establish, and ensure execution of, program tasks to ensure regulatory compliance for the installation for assigned programs. You will accurately draft, revise, edit, and finalize environmental documents such as permits, plans, standard operating procedures, reports, or similar documents according to established standards for assigned environmental programs. You will develop short and long-range plan program goals for environmental compliance and performance improvements. You will act as the Transition Coordinator in order to lead efforts to develop environmental permit and program transfer planning and execution, along with serving as a liaison to supported environmental customers during the transition.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level or NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: monitoring and ensuring environmental regulatory compliance is followed across operations to support mission objectives.
