This position is part of the Defense Media Activity, Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting senior network administration support to the Defense Media Center's Nonsecure Broadcast Internet Protocol (IT) Network (B-Net) while insuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Radio and Television B-Net.

Duties

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Applying security principles and methods of securing systems to conform within DOD policy. Maintaining broadcast IT systems and operations. Responding to complex IT issues and find solutions to IT issues in a timely manner. Work with ISSM on the planning, analysis, development and implementation of complete broadcast IT systems and properly documenting the IT systems. Identifying and specifying information system security requirements associated with migration to new environments, and provides guidance in planning and implementing migration activities.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS - 12 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: - Provides management advisory services and guidance on complex IT security issues and advises others on how best to resolve issues and interpret guidance. - Monitors, evaluates, and reports on the status and condition of IT security programs and directs corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risks. - Assists in carrying out in-depth analyses of system development plans to ensure that security requirements and specifications are effectively implemented. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
