About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation, Air Force Academy, Colorado. This position does include benefits.

Duties

Manages all aspects of the Cadet Outdoor Recreation Program (CRC) during winter months, and FamCamp (FC) and Picnic Areas during summer months. Supervises Clerks, Recreation Aids and Custodians in the day-to-day operation of these facilities. Assists in the daily operation of CRC and FamCamp as needed. Trains all CRC employees on the maintenance and repair of mountain bikes, skis, snowboards, bindings and related equipment. Trains FC personnel and monitors the cleaning and grounds contract at the Picnic Area. Coordinates volunteers to supplement additional maintenance requirements of FC. Prepares daily cash reports and must follow required cash handling procedures and accountability. Reviews financial statements and end of the month inventories for accuracy. Oversees the sale of fishing permits in accordance with USAFA Natural Resources policies. Coordinates purchasing of retail items and stocks resale areas. Coordinates and schedules bus transportation for cadets to/from the airports, both Colorado Springs and Denver. Resolves customer complaints in accordance with established procedures. Completes all work orders (332's) for FC and Picnic Areas. Assists with daily computer operations for the Reservation Operating System (ROS) and trains FC employees on its use, as well as Rec Trac. Monitors rental equipment to ensure the inventory is up-to-date and in good working condition. Serves as the primary building custodian for FC and picnic areas, and as alternate building custodian for Outdoor Recreation. Serves as the Safety Officer for both FC and CRC. Responsible for scheduling NAF employees and their bi-weekly time cards for timekeeper. Orders office supplies, equipment and merchandise for both FC and CRC. Works with Marketing on the design and development of flyers and brochures for upcoming events. Serves as the supervisor for Outdoor Recreation in the absence of the Director. Adheres to all Air Force and civilian safety and Hazcom programs. Maintains a files disposition plan for CRC and FC. Drives vehicle to various Academy sites. Primary duty location is CRC during the winter and FC during the summer, but may be required to work at Community Center Outdoor Recreation Center as needed. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Must have had experience supervising employees and have knowledge of how and why tasks are performed, and to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively. Incumbent must have experience which demonstrated the ability: to plan and establish program objectives or performance goals, and assess progress toward achievement; to make adjustments to meet new requirements, emergencies, or changing programs within available resources; to analyze organizational and operational problems; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to be objective and fair in judging people on their abilities, and in judging situations on the facts and circumstances; and to deal effectively with individuals or groups to accomplish work. Computer experience is required. Must have good organizational skills. Must have the ability to interpret and apply regulations and policies. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. A Local Files Check (LFC) and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are required.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
