This position is located in the VA Regional Office (VARO) Fiduciary Hub Indianapolis, Indiana. The incumbent will serve as a Program Support Assistant (scanner) in the Fiduciary Hub of the Regional Office. The incumbent will be responsible for creating electronic files in an automated computer system and scanning documents into Virtual VA System.
Duties
Create electronic files in an automated computer system and scans documents into Virtual VA System
(VVA); assigns index numbers and verifies scanned image with index number to ensure accuracy.
Conduct quality reviews and verifies record integrity by ensuring clarity and legibility of scanned
documents.
Clean, and maintains scanners, ensuring correction of operation problems or equipment malfunction.
Prepare various written correspondence (e.g. reports of contact, letters, responses to FOIA requests, etc.)
and provides information for statistical and narrative reports.
Receive, open, review, and date stamp all incoming correspondence (claims and other miscellaneous
mail); analyzes correspondence received and routes to the appropriate individual/location.
Explain basic VA benefit programs and entitlement criteria to fiduciaries and custodians, including
assisting with completion of application and forms, confirming accuracy and completeness, and routing
forms appropriately.
Develop straightforward evidence in conjunction with fiduciary claims and assists with the gathering of
evidence for more complex cases.
Utilize and input information into various automate systems associated with Fiduciary Hub operations.

To qualify at the grade level GS-06: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Compiling, assembling, and correlating information to prepare reports for management; (2) Reviewing documents for completion and accuracy; (3) Compiling and providing statistical data for administrative programs; (4) Maintaining files for circulars, bulletins, and memoranda; AND (5) Providing input for staffing requirements and budget needs within an organization.
Note: There is no provision for the substitution of education for specialized experience at grade level GS-6.
