You will serve as a PROTOCOL OFFICER in the Flag Office of the Commander of COM SUBMARINE GROUP 9.
Duties
You will plan, coordinate, execute, and direct the conduct of visits to CSG-9, including Office of the President, Vice President, Appointed Secretaries, Under Secretaries, Legislative Branch, Heads of State, Ambassadors, Flag/General Officers.
You will carry out an effective official and distinguished visitor program at CSG-9.
You will provide scheduling, logistics, and protocol support and serve as liaison between commands.
You will keep the Chief of Staff, Flag Lieutenant, Flag Secretary, and Public Affairs Officer updated on each visit?s status, including changes, amendments, and cancellations.
You will oversee approximately 20 distinguished visitor embarks conducted annually on CSG-9 and Submarine Forces afloat assets.
You will provide budget and management reviews of overall distinguished visitor programs to ensure that command and Navy-wide goals are met.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience applying protocol principles, practices and techniques (e.g., customs, courtesies, etiquette, code of conduct) to plan, coordinate, and execute administrative and logistical functions for command events (VIP visits, social functions, ceremonies).
