Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Coordinate preparation activities to conduct risk, threat, and/or vulnerability assessments (C-IST, CRR, EDM, etc.) for critical systems dependent on IT security e.g. determine appropriate attendees, schedule assessment activities; collect relevant data in advance of assessment.
Integrates information systems security with other security discipline within a total cybersecurity infrastructure protection environment.
Possess knowledge of systems security certification and network accreditation requirements and processes.
Ensures coordination and or collaboration on security activities in accordance with federal information systems security protocols.
Applies computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
Provide options for consideration regarding policies and procedures that a partner organization can implement to improve cybersecurity posture.
Conduct resource briefings to inform Critical Infrastructure owners and operators, and SLTT government stakeholders of capabilities, risk management strategies and resources that are available to assess and improve cybersecurity posture.
Performs security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
Present the current threat landscape, Critical Infrastructure cybersecurity concerns, and available resources and programs to audiences through speaking engagements.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Minimum Qualification/Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
Basic Requirement: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions
AND
Specialized Experience:GS-14: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level (starting salary ) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level.
Specialized experience is defined as: providing authoritative technical guidance and oversight related to information systems security to include cybersecurity frameworks, controls and auditing requirements; monitoring compliance of security programs designed to minimize system vulnerabilities by adhering to information systems security, regulations, protocols or security certification and accreditation requirements; and serving as a senior representative for complex, high-visibility information technology projects.

Education must be from an accredited institution recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Foreign Education: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements.
