About the Position: This position is located at Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Document complete mental health chief complaint, history of present illness, past psychiatric history, substance use history, social history; past medical history, complete mental status exam and preliminary assessment and plan. Document on the patient's clinical record patient progress toward treatment goals and any other, patient care provided. Provide brief supportive and educational therapy to patients under supervision from Licensed Independent Practitioner. Ensure compliance with privacy act, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), local safety, infection control, and universal precautions. Assist in the orientation of new personnel. Assist with patient flow and gives direct patient care within scope of responsibility. Ensure confidentiality of patient related issues and intervenes, to protect the same.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 30 pounds is required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
