This Support Services Specialist position is located in the United States Trustee Program (USTP) Region 12 Office, Minneapolis, MN. The USTP, a litigating component of the Department of Justice, is comprised of 21 Regions and the Executive Office for United States Trustees (EOUST). The United States Trustee Program is the component of the Department of Justice responsible for overseeing the administration of bankruptcy cases and private trustees under 28 U.S.C. ? 586 and 11 U.S.C. ? 101, et seq.

The purpose of this Support Services Specialist position is to provide substantive administrative support in personnel administration, procurement, travel, information technology, security, and other similar occupations responsible for the day-to-day administrative management for all employees in the assigned Region. The duties of this Support Services Specialist GS-0342-09 include but are not limited to: Manage all purchasing for one or more assigned Regions and all subordinate District Offices. Prepare/Review purchase requests for management approval. Provide travel services for all employees assigned to the Regional and District Offices located in various states including ensuring that travel authorizations and vouchers are completed in accordance with federal travel regulations. Manage a variety of office services functions for the region including physical security, mail, telecommunications, property management, physical inventory, procurement, equipment maintenance and disposal, files, records, reports, forms management, printing, and duplication services. Manage the day-to-day operations for the overall office management, serving as the element of continuity to ensure that standing operating procedures support established objectives. Maintain required records management systems to properly secure classified and sensitive information. Assist Region and District Office Staff with time and attendance system. Advise staff concerning proper code entry, FMLA, and "use or lose" policies. Serve as final reviewer of documents for accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting prior to an approving official's signature.

Requirements

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Support Services Specialist, (GS-0342-9), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to. Specialized Experience for the Support Services Specialist, GS-0342-09: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector maintaining operations for an office by providing employee support services (eg. purchase of supplies and equipment, reconciliation of purchase card, arranging travel, working with financial systems, records management functions, etc.). -OR- Education: Two full years of graduate level education or a master's or equivalent graduate degree. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You MUST meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/31/2023.
