Duties

- Housekeeping Aid Supervisor's notify supervisor when additional direction and information is required. Advises supervisor concerning additional training required, for a team or for individual workers. Provides the group with the supervisor's instructions and ensures the daily work is assigned to the appropriate employees. - Ensures the material and tools required for the tasks are available. Develops training, teaches, conducts on-the-job training, and continuously provides guidance on policies, procedures, instructions, and directives to fellow staff to maintain a clean healthcare facility utilizing infection control standards. Supports and is involved in teamwork and team building. Involved in on-the-job problem solving; developing, implementing and evaluating improvements to work processes. Teamwork is required! - Supervises staff, maintains their time keeping, and administers appropriate verbal and written disciplinary actions when needed. Completes periodic written performance appraisals for assigned staff, provides praise, and appropriate awards. Oversees staff performing the full range of environmental sanitation duties in hospital areas, healthcare facilities, and or Community Outpatient Clinics; utilizing a variety of cleaning techniques, supplies, and equipment. Directs the use of a wide variety of chemical solutions and floor care products, all of which must be handled in accordance with their accompanying safety data sheet, insuring that chemical materials and waste are always kept secure. - Experience with basic computer skills; records and conducts periodic inspections to ensure effective cleaning, sanitation, and infection control procedures are being used. Identifies, corrects, or writes work orders to address material discrepancies, Maintains numerous waste streams in accordance with applicable instructions, regulations, and operating procedures. - Ensures the safety of personnel by appropriating and enforcing the use of required personnel protective equipment. Oversees the safe use of operating power cleaning equipment to scrub, strip, wax, polish floors utilizing equipment such as; automatic scrubbing machines, buffers, carpet cleaning machines, industrial vacuums, etc. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12:00am; You may be required to work some holidays, weekends, and/or off duty times in order to support emergency needs. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The physical demands of this position will be that which is normally required of a housekeeping aid. Some heavy lifting (equipment and materials), movement of furniture required along with stamina to perform physical labor. Continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting, arduous physical effort is required in the performance of manual tasks described; such as washing walls above five feet and operating powered equipment over extended periods of time when providing training to employees, etc. You may be required to lift items weighing up to 50lbs. You may be exposed to communicable pathogens, skin irritations, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, and other potential safety hazards. Your primary duties are accomplished indoors with limited exposure to the outdoor environment. You may encounter temperature extremes, dirty, dusty, drafty, and noisy working conditions. Equipment utilized to accomplish duties and tasks require special care to avoid serious injury. In addition, you may be subject to occasional noise, skin irritations, cuts, and bruises. When occasionally performing cleaning tasks, moderate effort is expended.
