Duties
As an Investigative Analyst in the Investigations Division, you will:
Gather data on individuals or businesses who are subjects of allegations or investigations by querying a variety of resources, including law enforcement and intelligence databases, computerized recordkeeping systems, and SBA commercial databases
Monitor, coordinate, research, analyze, and evaluate incoming allegations.
Perform online research and data mining for complex fraud investigations.
Assist case agents in conducting investigations by participating in interviews of subjects and witnesses and attending meetings.
Thoroughly analyze investigative records, assist in preparing IG and grand jury subpoenas.
Research regulations, case precedents and other areas as required on individual cases.
Analyze computerized data for internal and external statistical reporting.
Develop, write, and edit investigative reports and related correspondence.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must successfully complete a background investigation. Candidates who do not complete the required background investigation paperwork by the pre-determined due date, will be disqualified.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Specialized Experience Statements:
GS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector such as: experience in an investigative or legal environment supporting criminal, civil, and administrative investigations by gathering complex or technical data using online sources; analyzing data to draw conclusions; manipulating spreadsheets containing volumes of data and summarizing the results; knowledge and understanding of various legal documents such as subpoenas; and presenting complex information (using presentation software) to stakeholders.
GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector such as: experience in an investigative or legal environment supporting criminal, civil, and administrative investigations by gathering complex or technical data using informational databases to collect relevant data and other facts; perform expert analyses and interpret data; experience using analytical, evaluative and research techniques to draw conclusions and make recommendations; manipulate spreadsheets containing volumes of data and summarizing the results; knowledge and understanding of various legal documents such as subpoenas; and presenting complex information (using presentation software) to stakeholders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
