About the Position: Serves as principal administrative and office automation support, performing a variety of administrative, technical, evaluative, and coordination duties, including providing permit processing support to the processing and/or enforcement sections of the Regulatory Branch, including field offices, engaged in permit issuance or denial, enforcement actions, or permit compliance.

Duties

Prepare, review, edit, format, print, route, and/or mail correspondence and documents using word processing and spreadsheet software. Provide administrative and technical assistance required to support evaluation of Department of the Army (DA) permit applications, permit compliance, and/or enforcement cases. Prepare and distribute public notices via mail, email, and website postings, and update distribution lists for public notices. Perform clerical support and typing duties such as travel, document reproduction, scanning, and filing. ? Use automated systems to create, maintain and retrieve data, files and records management. Serve as primary timekeeper, ensuring accurately and timely timekeeping and leave documentation. Receive calls and greet visitors directing them to the appropriate individual.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience performing administrative functions of an office, to include the following: timekeeping or travel; completing/editing reports or correspondence using automated software; and experience gained in an office environment interpreting or applying administrative rules, regulations, or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Organizational AwarenessProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
