About the Position: As Chief of the Advertising & Public Affairs Division (A&PA) for a Recruiting Battalion (BN), you will be responsible for BDE/MRB-wide advertising programs.

Duties

Conducts media and market analysis. Plans and executes the annual advertising budget in support of the Battalion?s recruiting missions using the most effective and cost efficient media platforms available. Oversees Battalion participation at local events and with civic organizations to promote Army opportunities and provide recruiters with face-to-face interaction with the target market. Supervises and directs the work activities of two GS-9 Public Affairs Specialists assigned to the Advertising and Public Affairs Division. Serves as advisor to the Recruiting Battalion Commander and serves as Recruiting Battalion spokesperson on all public affairs issues.

OR Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as marketing, communications, public affairs (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36 by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
