This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Review contracted design and construction submittals to ensure compliance with the USACE Advanced Modeling standard (AdM).
Make modifications to civil features where overall design is responsibility of engineer.
Utilize software-related systems to provide technical design assistance, construction plans, and other engineering products and support to architects and engineers.
Develop and maintain AdM Project Execution Plans, procedures, and standard operational workflows.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Hiring official will hire at the GS-06 or GS-07 level (promotion potential to GS-12).

Specialized Experience:
To Qualify for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes locating and modifying existing Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; and assisting in developing layouts for projects of limited scope. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as civil engineering, civil engineering technologies, or drafting and design.
To Qualify for GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes locating and modifying existing Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; assisting in developing layouts for projects of a limited scope; and reviewing AdM files for compliance with standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as civil engineering, civil engineering technologies, or drafting and design.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
To Qualify for GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing simple Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings under supervision; assisting in the review of engineering drawings prepared by others; and assisting in developing layouts for projects of a limited scope. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as civil engineering, civil engineering technologies, or drafting and design.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
To Qualify for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; assisting in the review of engineering drawings prepared by others; and assisting in developing layouts for a variety of projects; and maintaining standardized AdM files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
OR
Education: Two full years of graduate level education OR a master's degree that is directly related to the work of the position.
To Qualify for GS-10: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing portions of complex Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; reviewing engineering drawings prepared by others; developing layouts for projects of limited scope; and modifying AdM files under supervision. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
To Qualify for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing complete, complex Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; reviewing engineering drawings prepared by others, developing layouts for a variety of projects; and implementing appropriate engineering selections/adaptations from AdM databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
To Qualify for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing complete, complex Advanced Modeling (AdM) drawings; reviewing engineering drawings prepared by others, developing layouts for a variety of projects, implementing appropriate engineering selections/adaptations from AdM databases; and developing and maintaining AdM Project Execution Plans, procedures, and standard operational workflows. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Education
