You will serve as a ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVSTA MAYPORT.
Duties
You will be the representative of the Fire Chief for all fire protection and fire engineering matters.
You will (in the absence of the Fire Chief) be in complete charge of firefighters.
You will determine levels of staff, equipment, and other resources needed to provide departmental services and programs.
You will administer a fire protection and prevention training program.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent the next lower grade or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
EXTERNAL APPLICANTS (Non-current federal, claiming VEOA, VRA, etc): One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-10) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: (1) developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention; (2) controlling or extinguishing aircraft, structural and shipboard fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department; and (3) detection, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
INTERNAL APPLICANTS (Current permanent competitive federal): One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: (1) training in fire protection and prevention; (2) controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department; and (3) detection, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
Note: Applicant must meet the following Firefighter certifications ****Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, and HAZMAT Incident Commander; these certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement, and Emergency Medical Technician - Basic awarded by the National Registry. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.****
