Qualifications

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. You qualify for this position at the GS-09 level (starting salary $64,957) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.  Specialized experience for this position includes:  Receiving, reviewing, analyzing, reconciling and/or processing invoices to ensure accuracy; AND Analyzing, reconciling, validating and/or correcting discrepancies in accounting data and/or transactions; AND Applying pertinent laws, regulations, policies, audit controls, and guidance to daily accounting processes. OR Master's or Equivalent Graduate Degree -OR- 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; -OR- LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combination of education and experience. You qualify for this position at the GS-11 level (starting salary $78,952) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in the Federal Service.  This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.  Specialized experience for this position includes:  Monitoring, maintaining, and correcting data and accounting records to ensure it is current and accurate; AND Analyzing accounting records to solve a variety of accounting problems; AND Researching, collecting, interpreting, and analyzing pertinent regulations, policies, guidance, and audit controls to accurately administer financial programs. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; -OR- 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; -OR- LL.M., if related. OR Combination of education and experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience.
