About the Position: This position is for Director of Medicine located at Army Medical Center Darnall, Fort Cavazos (Formerly Fort Hood), TX.

Duties
Receives telephone calls, patients, and visitors to the medical facility.
Applies and removes bandages, binders, simple dressings, and hot and cold packs.
Completes screening of patient for Privilege Provider to include recording chief complaint, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, and weight etc.
Administers immunizations as ordered and screened by providers.
Receives requests for appointment by telephone or in person.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- Child Care Background is required for this position in accordance with DODI 1402.5 (e) enclosure 5; memorandum dated March 6, 1992 Subject "Criminal History Background Checks on Employees in Child Care Services".
- Must obtain and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network.
- This position requires successful completion of pre-placement and annual medical examinations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) demonstrated experience performing non-professional nursing/medical assistance work assisting Health Care Providers with medical exams; 2) administering immunizations and medications ordered by the Health care providers; 3) obtaining specimens (blood, mucus, urine, etc.) for laboratory testing.
OR
Education: Successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, Nursing, Anatomy that is directly related to the position. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
