The ideal candidate should have:
Experience leading diverse working groups or teams, setting clear objectives and providing team feedback.
Employing scientific and analytical techniques to define, quantify, and evaluate the feasibility of assigned projects, studies, or problems.
Clear ability to communicate both up and down the chain of command on program status, requirements, problems/analysis/solutions and promote program objectives.
Experience in providing technical guidance and independently resolving unique problems and issues involving the development of models and/or programs.
Clear ability to use statistical models to identify actual or potential problem areas, trends, and similar factors to improve agency program operations and/or management systems.
DUTIES:
Provide technical and/or administrative direction to three branches to execute nuclear materiel management requirements.
Design research and conduct developmental studies that are unique, difficult to define, and require unconventional approaches.
Advise and recommend new statistical techniques, innovations, models, and technical and scientific advancements to overcome nuclear materiel management issues.
Lead multifunctional teams to address materiel issues related to air delivered nuclear weapons.
Leads the division in the absence of the Division Chief.

- This position requires a Top Secret clearance. Selectee should be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 30 days per year.

- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).

Operations Research Series 1515, Individual Occupational Requirements: Basic Requirement: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and mastery of a broad range of methods and techniques used in classical and modern advanced operations research studies and possession of analytical abilities.
2. Knowledge of expert quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
3. Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
4. Ability to recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicate information in writing in a succinct and organized manner; and produce written information, including technical material, which is appropriate for the intended audience.
5. Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques.
