The Wage and Hour Division (WHD) is an essential labor law enforcement agency responsible for enforcing significant labor laws affecting nearly 150 million workers. Our mission is to protect rights related to minimum wage, overtime, child labor, family and medical leave, employment conditions for migrant workers, lie detector tests, garnishments, prevailing wages on government-funded contracts, labor provisions of several guest worker programs, and more.
Duties
Bilingual - Fluency in English and Spanish is PREFERRED, however it is not a requirement and you will be given full consideration if you are not bilingual. If you are bilingual, you may be interviewed in both Spanish and English. You may also be asked to read/write/translate documents from Spanish to English and vice versa.
This is a developmental position. The career ladder progression is GS-07/8/9. In the developmental grade levels, the employee will carry out a variety of assignments as a continuation of their training and development, with duties being performed under closer than normal supervision. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex in preparation to fully perform the duties at the full performance level (GS-09).
This is not a remote/virtual position, the employee must physically report to an office.
Requirements

- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Bilingual English and Spanish language fluency is preferred but not required.

To qualify for this position, the resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level, in the Federal Service. The experience must be directly related to the work of the position. Examples of specialized experience are as follows:
Preparing written communication to summarize information;
Responding to and/or resolving customer complaints;
Assisting with interviews or investigations to gather data/information;
Analyzing numerical data to identify discrepancies and/or perform mathematical calculations.
Education
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at this grade level.
