The Primary Purpose of the Position is: To Maintain an efficient operating condition of electrical equipment throughout the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS). The Organization Location of the Position is: Facilities Management Service, VA North Texas HealthCare System.

Duties

Duties include but not limited to: Incumbent maintains an efficient operating conditions electrical equipment throughout the hospital, such as fans, pumps, kitchen appliances, laboratory, and Dental equipment and public address and security systems. Locates, diagnoses and corrects troubles of electrical nature in shop equipment, thermostats, rheostats, heating equipment, buzzers, alarms systems, remote and automatic control circuits, switches, relays, interlocks and timers, using such test instruments as voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter and meggers.Incumbent measures, cuts, bends and installs conduits in existing walls, ceilings, floors and new construction. Connects conduit and wire to electrical panels, controls and equipment. Determines polarity continuity and rests for ground before making connections.
