This position will be assigned to the Randolph Inn, JBSA Randolph TX. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits. Continual standing, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts, weighing more than 100 pounds and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Duties

The function of the organization segment is to provide housing to transient personnel, to families who are temporarily without permanent housing, furnishings for transient quarters, and linen exchange services to authorized organizations. The purpose of this position is to supervising, through subordinate supervisors, a custodial and laborer staff involved in the cleaning and maintenance of transient lodging facilities. This position is for Lodging operations with 175 to 799 rooms. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in planning, organizing, conducting, and managing a medium to large, expanded lodging housekeeping program. Indirectly supervises a work force of employees primarily classified as Custodial Workers, NA-3566-1, and Laborers, NA-3566-02 through subordinate supervisors. Formulates, implements, coordinates and controls a comprehensive lodging housekeeping program. Assists in determining long-range, intermediate, and short-range program goals and policies independently or jointly with higher management. Assists in developing and implementing organizational structures and operating plans and procedures to achieve program goals, monitors effectiveness and efficiency of operations within the established framework, and makes adjustments as necessary. Accountable for the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned employees to include: hires, promotes, motivates, disciplines, and separates employees. Assists in assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinates, and evaluates their work performance; approving or disapproving sick leave, annual leave or other absences from work; planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations, solving problems related to the work supervised; determining equipment and supplies needed; and explaining and gaining the support of subordinates for management policy and goals; and for dealing effectively with employee and representatives of personnel on employee suggestions, complaints, grievances and other matters. Assist in establishing personnel management policies for the housekeeping operation in line with the personnel policies of the AF and local lodging operations. Delegates authority to subordinate supervisors and holds them responsible for the performance of their respective organizational units. Responsible for maintaining documentation to prepare as needed budget information on information such as, housekeeping personnel expenses, cleaning supplies, and resale sundry stock. Develops and maintains standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Standards encompass such areas as frequency of cleaning; methods, procedures, and safety precautions to be followed; selection, measurement and proper use of housekeeping and cleaning supplies; and use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment. Monitors performance based recognition and internal special lodging awards programs for the housekeeping staff. As required, may clean and restock lodging facilities and related areas. Qualifying Experience: Experience delegating and supervising the work of subordinate employees in custodial/housekeeping work. Experience demonstrating technical expertise in lodging housekeeping operation and program management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of management methods and techniques. 2. Ability to delegate work. 3. Ability to develop procedures which mesh the specific goals of the housekeeping program. 4. Ability to work with other managers to coordinate respective programs. 5. Ability to analyze problems and make decisions. 6. Ability to communicate effectively. 7. Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations in areas such as budget, personnel, and labor relations and ability to develop operating procedures implementing these requirements. 8.Knowledge of housekeeping methods and techniques. 9.
