This position is located in the Air Conditioning A/C Section within the Maintenance Division in the Engineering Service located at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, WI (585) - a Level 3 Complexity VHA Facility.

Duties

This position is located al VA Medical Center Iron Mountain, Michigan, Engineering Service, Maintenance & Repair Section. Major Duties: -Program and debug Siemen's PPCL software computer code specifically within the DESIGO software suite. -Maintains a level 1 COR certificate to provide contract management of service contracts. -Interpret, analyze, troubleshoot, and adjust HVAC Sequence of operations to maintain proper system and equipment function. -Critique and write equipment/system preventative maintenance procedures. -Research, interpret, and implement maintenance practices in accordance with regulatory standards within a medical center setting; Joint Commission, ASHRAE, VA design guides, NFPA and others. -Manage software user accounts; set up passwords, assign access privileges and system personnel access inventory. -Create and provide end user customer training within the DEISGO software. -Program alarm parameters, alarm messaging, and assigns alarm priority hierarchy to maintain code and regulatory compliance and to protect the specialized services within the medical center. -Provide high level understanding of HVAC and refrigeration equipment/systems to assist project Engineers with the reviewing of project prints and specifications. -Troubleshoot electrical and various electronic equipment, including controls associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems. -Install, troubleshoot, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment and systems. -Install, troubleshoot, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment and systems including chillers. -Work with heat exchangers, reheat and cooling piping, pumps, and delivery systems including associated equipment and controls. -Work with medical gases, compress air and vacuum systems along with compressed air and gas delivery piping systems, equipment and components. -Build automation Siemens' DESIGO software to be able to train maintenance staff to a proficient level. Assisting staff with technical support. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Work assignments require moderate physical effort. Employees frequently lift, carry, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds). Occasionally they handle items greater than 18 kilograms. Assistance is usually available with heavy items. They work in a sitting position for extended periods. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is required. Occasionally, climbing and work in high places may be required. Working Conditions: Work is usually performed inside in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. When equipment is fixed in place, it is sometimes necessary to work in warehouse or industrial areas exposed to loud noises, heat or cold, fumes, etc. Employees are subject to injuries, such as electric shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical energy or soldering irons
