About the position: This position will be assigned to the Bowling Center.
The position will be filled as flex; scheduled between 0-40 hours per week; includes evenings/weekends based on squadron/program requirements.
Frequently lifts/carries parts and assembles weighing up to 40 lbs. May push/pull larger assemblies weighing up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, standing and working in awkward positions. Exposed to high noise levels while working on equipment.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain bowling facility equipment. Installs, adjusts, repairs, overhauls, and regularly inspects bowling facility electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic ball cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines. Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment referring to manuals for diagrams and specifications. Follows manufacturer's maintenance schedules but makes changes as necessary. Disassembles and replaces or repairs mechanical and electrical components or parts using soldering irons, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other hand tools. Cleans and lubricates machines. Measures and regulates sweep of rakes on automatic pinsetters using hand tools and gauges. Runs automatic pinsetter through complete cycle and inspects for pinsetting accuracy.
Conditions, maintains, and repairs bowling pins and lanes. Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters using wood and plastic lane stock, and sanding and recoating surfaces. Maintains required records and reports; initiates requests for spare parts, supplies, and hand equipment; performs general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper standards of appearance, cleanliness, and safety of assigned spaces

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment which provided a thorough knowledge of the mechanical an electrical principles and operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment, and the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturer's service manuals. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally push or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb, stand, and work in awkward positions
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
