The selectee for this position will serve as a Machinist Supervisor I in Shop 31 CNC & Precision Machining Shop 31A, Mechanical Division (TRF-320), Repair Department (TRF-300)
of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will be responsible for planning, directing and managing the performance of manufacturing, repair, maintenance, overhaul, installation of submarine machinery and equipment
You will provide technical direction over work efforts of subordinates to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of shop operations.
You will provide administrative supervision over shop operation.
You will plan weekly work schedules to be accomplished by shop subordinates.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT Level II certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

The ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks as an expert or have been consulted by other employees in difficult situations performing duties including: Experience planning weekly work schedules to be accomplished by shop subordinates. Experience providing technical direction over work efforts of subordinates to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of submarine operations. Experience leading conferences and job site consultation with work leaders to resolve work problems. Experience ensuring that material and equipment are available. Experience reviewing work while in progress and upon completion. Experience explaining work requirements, methods, and procedures to subordinates. Experience providing help to mechanics or work leaders in accomplishing difficult tasks and processes. Experience measuring machinery equipment.
Experience dismantling , moving, relocating, and installing various types of submarine and shipboard machinery.
