Duties
This position allows you to use your expertise in audio visual production to become a vital and essential part of Customs and Border Protection's mission. This position starts at a salary of $82,830.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $107,680.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $107,680.00 (GS-12 Step 10).
In this Audio Visual Production Specialist position, you are required to serve as a producer, director, script writer and production assistant in support of agency informational and message media production projects. You are responsible for oversight of the following program objectives:
Producing quality multi-media production projects in support of agency informational and messaging media production projects.
Managing all facets of multi-media production projects, including directing, audio, video, script preparation, editing, photography, graphic design, and post-production.
Assembling and repairing cables, installing and maintaining equipment, ordering and maintaining spare parts for all studio equipment.
Qualifications
Basic Requirement: You must provide supporting documentation in your application to show you meet at least one of these basic requirements.
Undergraduate and/or Graduate Education:Major study - photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Consulting with clients on general concepts, objectives, and target audiences of projects.
Directing video productions by designing sets and lighting, conceiving visuals, selecting music and sound effects.
Selecting and directing cameras and movement during taping and editing.
Assisting in preparation or graphics and support requirements for productions

You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/22/2023.
