About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Position is located at Fort Eisenhower, GA. The fort is located southwest of Augusta, GA and home to the United States Army Signal Corps, Army Cyber Command and the Cyber Center of Excellence.

Duties

Establish controls and safeguards to ensure that buildings, material, and equipment are protected against theft, illegal entry, sabotage, terrorism, or other adverse activities. Participate in or conduct inspections and surveys, evaluates findings, and makes recommendations for corrective action. Determine the adequacy of current investigations/data collected and request additional investigations or develops other information, as needed. Review security investigations to determine whether an interim security clearance should be granted or denied. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for the protection of classified information.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. (See Note in Qualifications section below)
• Required to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. OR Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Security Management, Security Administration, National Security Studies, etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
