About the Position:
Serve as a Data Scientist providing professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, spatial visualization, and/or other scientific principles, methods, techniques and delivers expert business intelligence with respect to data governance, data visualization, data analysis and management capabilities, organizational capacity, and enterprise analytics infrastructure.
Duties
Utilizes tools such as Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Power Automate; Microsoft Power APP; Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL), SAS, Oracle, Primavera, and other data analytics tools, as necessary.
Performs research, analysis, and modeling development projects on data requirements and architecture.
Analyzes complex data elements and systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models.
Defines deficiencies and shortfalls, recommends corrective actions to data architecture, and executes approved revisions.
Extracts relevant information from historical datasets; identifies, creates, and employs the appropriate statistical, algorithmic, mining, forecasting, predictive, and visualization techniques; evaluates information.

Basic Requirements:
Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Specialized Experience:
One year specialized at the GS-11 level/equivalent, which includes a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, responsible for performing research, analysis, and modeling development projects on data requirements and architecture, develops, analyzes, and recommends new methodologies to fuse data sources derived from requirements and systems.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
