About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, located a Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resources Management, Security, Honolulu Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Duties

Participate in planning, developing, implementing and coordinating with personnel specialists regarding security requirements for civilian and military personnel programs. Review incoming classified documents and routes them to the appropriate personnel. Develop personnel security training material and conducts training for personnel with access to classified information. Review Electronic Questionnaires for Investigation Processing (e-QIP) requests for completeness and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This is a drug testing designated position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position requires the employee to travel away from the normal duty station as required (10%).

GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting with an organization's security program performing duties such as security clearance investigations, gathering data, conducting security inspections, utilizing automated security systems, carrying out security plans in accordance with policy and procedures This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationProblem SolvingSecurity Program ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
