This position is located at the 149 Maintenance Squadron (MAI SQ) Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX. The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders in accomplishing the work of the Propulsion Element and to perform associated non-supervisory work. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

Duties

AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Performs the non-supervisory work of the Propulsion Element. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Specialized Experience: To qualify at the WS-10 grade level your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment experience reflecting at least 36 months experience or training in the following: Experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
