The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and track data collected by installation law enforcement and security programs in support of the Reports and Analysis section.

Duties

Maintains and tracks Security Forces incident reports, tickets, barments, driving records, revocations, and suspenses using the Security Forces Management Information System (SFMIS). Maintains controlled items. Provides administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.

  • This is a drug testing position. Incumbent may be selected for random drug testing.
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
  • This is a Key Position. The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation.
  • Position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively.
  • This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,").

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes s practical knowledge of standardized security methods, rules, regulations, and principles to provide support to security specialists in security administration; and perform nonstandard security assignments and resolve recurring problems. Knowledge of security procedures pertaining to handling and disposing of classified material, such as classification markings, accountability and control, declassification, and destruction procedures. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of basic security processes and procedures. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations and produce a variety of documents and reports. Knowledge of general clerical and office functions and procedures, as well as the basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and standard abbreviations. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer
