This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Technician'/Administrative Support Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-JSP (JPA1).
Duties
Assist internal customers in solving their security-related problems and in educating them as to their responsibilities in this area. Identify routine administrative or security program related issues and resolve related conflicts.
Work with DISA Headquarters Security element in developing statements of need, descriptions of work, and other considerations relating to the security requirements of contractual arrangements.
Assist with implementing local policies and procedures for classification and protection of classified and other sensitive national defense information originated or controlled by the serviced organization.
Perform a variety of routine personnel security duties. Retrieve work from the organization?s security manager email inbox. Receive and review requests for investigations and/or security clearances and reports unfavorable information.
Monitor the status of personnel security investigations and/or security clearances for assigned civilian and contractor personnel and notifies leadership of any issues.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- This is a drug testing position.
- The incumbent of this position is required to obtain and maintain Tier 1 Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-07, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience assisting in the day-to-day administration of multi-disciplinary security programs such as physical, information, personnel, industrial and operations security; planning and providing employee/customer assistance with all facets of security; and assisting in the implementation of security policies.

Education
GG-07 (2-grade interval) Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the qualifying experience requirement when education is directly related to the position being filled.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the
