The Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program Coordinator (IPV-PC) is a Social Work Program Coordinator whose primary responsibilities are to provide clinical evidence-based services including, assessments and interventions; program development; Veteran, family, Caregiver and staff education on domestic violence and intimate partner violence; community outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities; and evaluation/ consultation.

The Domestic Violence/intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program Coordinator develops and implements the Domestic Violence/intimate Parmer Violence Assistance Program specific to his/her area of assignment and insures compliance and collaboration with local facility and the VA Central Office Program initiatives. This includes 25% ofth.is position.
Incumbent may work in the outpatient and inpatient setting, providing direct clinical social worker service to patients and families, provides consultation to other services and to the community; education to patients, family and hospital staff on a wide range of topics. In the inpatient and outpatient setting the primary care social worker is a member of an interdisciplinary team, facilitates discharge planning, and completes psychosocial assessments as needs and referral to appropriate VA and community resources, and case management services.
Develops implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services while tracking data and trends.
The incumbent participates in direct Veteran, family, Caregiver, and VA employee contacts to identify and assess risk, safety, supports and the development and of directed clinical treatment interventions. Advises and collaborates with interdisciplinary groups throughout the medical center on Intimate partner violence issues. Creates educational tools, develops programs and implements training focused on specific DV issues. Provides education and in-service training to VAMC employees, Veterans, families and Caregivers. Provides ongoing consultation and support to colleagues regarding IPV assistance. Develops and facilitates groups and educational programs.
Distributes educational material provided by VA, local, state and national DV/IPV organizations.
The incumbent conducts Veteran, family, Caregiver and VA employee interventions to facilitate the identification of domestic violence or intimate partner violence, psychiatric illness, distress and social needs as treatment issues. Professional judgement, including the knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior, is an inherent competency applied in daily interactions with staff and clients.
As a Domestic violence and intimate partner Violence Assistance Program Coordinator, the incumbent stays abreast of current federal and state legislation directed et Veterans, their family caregiver and/or VA employees who experience DV/PV and/or use DV,QV. 'I'he incumbent will maintain a knowledge base of current theory and treatment modalities by reading, attending conferences clinic seminars, and review of materials distributed through VA end private sector sources.
The incumbent will collaborate with the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), Mental Health and Geriatric Primary Care clinicians to provide Veteran and staff education on domestic violence/intimate partner violence. Coordination will include hands-on support coup work involvement, and training of patient aligned team clinical social work the development and new programming and intervention.
The incumbent will develop IPV assistance information material for distribution through the various inpatient/outpatient and specialty clinic settings.
The incumbent serves as a liaison between the VA and community agencies. Participates in DV/IPV assistance activities in the local community and state to promote and the role of individuals who use and/or experience DVQV. Participates on state and local DV/?PV assistance committees, May invite state and community DV,QV related agencies to par6cipate on the local VA DV/IPV Assistance Advisory Board if applicable. Establishes and maintains access to electronic social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, secure email and YouTube in accordance with VA policy. Develops and fosters Relationships with community partners to assist with system navigation, collaboration and coordinate services. Provides outreach presentations to community social service agencies, military Guard and Reserve units, Veteran Service organizations and other groups involved with IPV/ Veteran services.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Education: Must possess a Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Licensure: Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
English Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in written and spoken English to be appointed.
Grade Determinations: Social Worker (Program Coordinator) GS-0185-12
(1) Experience/Education.
One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience.
(2) Licensure/Certification.
Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
(3) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
In addition to the experience above, candidates must demonstrate all of the following KSAs (Note: a separate document with written demonstration of KSAs must be included with application, see required documents section):
(a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
(b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
(c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
(d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
(e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.
