This position is part of the WAPA Headquarters. As a Supervisory Security Specialist, you will serve as the Chief Of Security Operations and have overall responsibility for developing and maintaining comprehensive and effective security and emergency management program support in each of WAPA's regions.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the Lakewood, CO duty location.**

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-12] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience within a security program, i.e., physical security, security operations and industrial security, performing at least 2 of the 3 following items - specialized experience must be described in your resume to receive proper credit:
Experience in the following Safeguards and Security Topical Areas: Protective Force Operations (leading and managing security programs), Physical Security Systems (and its effective operation and maintenance to include intrusion detection systems, barriers, keys and locks, alarm processing and display, badging and entry control/access control, etc.), and Protection Program Management (performance assurance and testing, security risk management to include risk and vulnerability assessments, developing and evaluating Facility Security Plans, working knowledge of SECONs, and survey/self-assessments).
Experience leading diverse groups of people in a challenging security operations environment.
Experience briefing senior leadership on contested topics, making logical recommendations, and providing reliable advice about security issues as they affect the organization.
