About the Position: This position is physically located at Richard Wilson Troop Medical Clinic under the direction of the Patient Administration Division. The hours for this position are 0730-1600 Mon-Fri. Selectee will counsel service members on the Existed Prior to Service (EPTS) and Line of Duty (LOD) process as well as ensuring the initiation and processing of all applicable paperwork.
Duties
Counsel military personnel who do not meet physical requirements for enlistment and/or retention on active duty.
Utilize an automated system to create and/or maintain a variety of reports, correspondence and/or records.
Receive military personnel referred by professional staff with Existed Prior to Service medical conditions review records and determine appropriate action.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing patient medical records for accuracy; providing customer service to patients such as relaying policy and/or procedures; collecting data according to supervisors request or guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
