The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a support staff responsible for the prioritizing of tasks assigned under the supervisions of licensed professional nursing utilizing universal precautions and ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment conducive to the delivery o quality nursing care. This position is located at the Chinle Service Unit, Division of Nursing Services, Inpatient Units, Chinle, Arizona.

Duties

This position serves as a support staff, responsible for the prioritizing of tasks as assigned under the supervision of licensed professional nursing staff utilizing universal precautions and insuring a safe, clean and orderly environment conductive to the delivery of quality nursing care. Provides nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established unit policy; Provides basic nursing care to patients with a variety of conditions, illnesses and/or injuries; obtains and records patient information. Assists in admitting and discharging patients; assist in post mortem care. Reports and observes the patient's change of condition and reactions; communicates with the senior nurse. Assists health care providers. Collects and provides care of specimens with assistance. Maintains clinical records; Adheres to confidentiality polices and the Privacy Act. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):Applicants who meet at least one of the following requirements may qualify for positions at the GS-04 - Completed 26 weeks of general experience and 26 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-03 grade level to qualify - performing a variety of nonprofessional nursing care and diagnostic support duties in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home or other medical, nursing, or patient care facility. Education: 2 years above high school with course directly related to the position. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
