About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is within the 780th MI Brigade, 781st MI Battalion, providing customer support and end user services with regard to automation equipment, classified and unclassified networks, and hardware and software requirements.
Duties
Providing customer support and other end user services with regard to overall automation equipment, classified and unclassified networks, and customer hardware and software requirements.
Serves as helpdesk liaison between battalion end users and external agencies
Updats and maintains helpdesk Standards of Procedure (SOP), automated system access procedures and historical documentation.
Evaluating and processing lifecycle replacement actions.
Facilitates account creation for inbound end users and account deletion for outbound end users.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- All INSCOM may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA facilities and networks.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel will be required and will constitute up to 25% of the time.
- Position is considered Non-Combat Essential (NCE) in support of the Army?s mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increased tension and mobilization and could be assigned to any location worldwide
- Must sign DD Form 2365, acknowledging the conditions described above and the requirement to maintain certain levels of medical, security, performance, conduct, and overall fitness to be fit for assignment to an austere/stressful combat environment.
- Failure to perform the duties of this position in an emergency may result in appropriate action ? defined as separation for the efficiency of the Federal service under the procedures contained in 5 CFR 752.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Providing end user network support on all classified and unclassified network services and equipment; managing/providing helpdesk support, system analysis, the ad installation and maintenance of computing equipment, databases, and permissions for all classified and unclassified networks; administering power user training to subordinate information management officers (IMOs) to ensure appropriate technical training requirements and appointment letters are obtained and maintained; and, collaborating with section leader and section staff members regarding user requirements and recommends solutions for customer requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-09).

In addition, you may qualify for this position if you have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR an LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks; OR a combination of specialized experience and education.
