The Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention is the principal organization within the FAA with respect to aircraft accident investigation and all activities related to National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Our mission is to make air travel safer through investigation, data collections, risk analysis and information sharing.
Duties
The Supervisory Aviation Accident Investigator directs the work of subordinate employees and/or managers for more than one organizational unit/project/program within a major subdivision. The work usually includes a mixture of routine and complex projects/ programs based on the objectives of AVS. Applies an advanced technical knowledge of aviation accidents investigative techniques, principles and guidelines to direct the FAA investigators in technical workgroups in the analysis of aviation accidents.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.
