This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Scott AFB, Illinois .
Duties
Provides office support for the Chief, to include facilitating communication between the Chief and immediate staff.
Writes executive correspondence which incorporates the Chief?s philosophies and goals, which includes having the ability to communicate orally and in writing with all levels.
Establishes standard operating procedures and ensures that personnel are trained on all administrative procedures and internal policies and guidelines.
Functions as liaison for internal off-site meetings for the Chief and staff.
Reviews all incoming correspondence and tasks received and determines the action required and assigns to the appropriate office to meet suspense dates.
Maintains calendar of social events and ceremonial occasions and coordinates the efforts for the organization?s administrative staff.
Requirements

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

Qualifications
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-06 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-07 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-08 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-06, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-05 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience at the GS-06 level is defined as experience providing administrative support to a Section Chief, or equivalent, through a variety of administrative or analytical projects/assignments.
For the GS-07, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-06 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience at the GS-07 level is defined as experience providing administrative support to Leadership, or equivalent, through a variety of complex administrative, advisory, or analytical projects/assignments.
For the GS-08, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience at the GS8 level is defined as experience providing administrative support to Senior Leadership, or equivalent, through a wide variety of complex administrative, advisory, or analytical projects/assignments.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education
SUBSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION:
Substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at the GS-06 grade level: Six months (9 semester hours) of graduate education that is directly related to the work of the position being filed to meet the specialized experience. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-07 LEVEL: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the position. (One full year of graduate education is the number of hours the school determines to equal one year. If this information is unavailable, 18 semester hours will be used as the standard.) SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-08 LEVEL: One and a half years (27 semester hours) of graduate education directly related to the position being filled. Note: You must submit copies of your official or unofficial transcripts.
