You will serve as a SUPPLY SYSTEM ANALYST in the Deputy Supply Office (Code 501) for the Supply Department (Code 500) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will develop, analyze, and improve polices, plans procedures, and methods within the supply program.
You will work supply processes, and supply data management operational procedures through stream lining and removing road blocks for process improvement initiatives.
You will monitor transactions, track timing of reorder actions, and verify changes and observe activity in the supply program to ensure supplies are available when required.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying the principles and tools of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Theory of Constraints to shipyard processes and programs relative to naval ship overhaul, repair and maintenance timelines.
Experience planning, organizing, implementing and developing procedures and practices for multiply supply program for process Improvement within the supply program and day to day operations.
Experience participating in facility meetings, conferences, or presentations where incumbent must resolve differences and/or gain cooperation of officials to reconsider their own decisions in light of findings from analyses and/or recommendations.
Experience adhering to the concepts, work practices, policies and philosophy of naval shipyard overhaul, repair and maintenance work relevant to supply operations.
Experience utilizing various supply programs & supply management systems with a comprehensive knowledge of supply operations.
