Duties

WHAT IS THE WAGE AND INVESTMENTDIVISION? A description of the business units can be found at: https://www.jobs.irs.gov/about/who/business-divisions Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas: Wage and Investment Customer Assistance, Relationship and Education, Wage and Investment Non-Service Center, National Distribution Center, Logistics Section The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Load and unload trucks, carts, other conveyances or pallets loaded with forms, supplies and other products. Move, pack, unpack, sort, segregate, arrange, stack, pile or relocate a large variety of packages and other items. Cartons loaded, unloaded, or moved weigh up to 50 pounds. Move and assemble furniture and equipment manually, using dollies or using manual or electric pallet lifters. Perform minor maintenance and repairs on office furniture and equipment using common hand and power tools. Follow appropriate procedures when moving stock to maintain accountability of Government-provided published products. Receive stock movement orders through paper orders, automated and radio frequency devices. Identify the location of required items using computer locator system or RF equipment. Pull stock using appropriate equipment and deliver it to specified locations. Appropriately complete inventory tracking information. Return full cartons of undeliverable products to stock; restock other items as directed. Follow appropriate procedures for receipt, inspection, acceptance, handling, storage, fulfillment, shipping and disposal of security, serially numbered, and Official Use Only published products. Take inventory of quantities of specific forms by counting boxes or pallets as requested. Verify physical inventory accuracy against inventory records and reconcile differences in Inventory and Distribution System.

Qualifications

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: WG-02 LEVEL: To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. To be qualifying your experience should demonstrate the following: stock movement methods and loading and unloading methods to move materials safely and prevent damage during transport. The set up and operation of equipment operated including procedures for routine adjustments, minor repairs, and cleaning of equipment operated. Operation and routine maintenance of radio frequency devices, bar code readers, scanners, and other equipment to pick, track and close out orders. Knowledge of simple arithmetic and counting to select accurate order quantities and basic English to read orders and write labels. Able to stand for prolonged periods of time and able to bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 pounds. Lifting often may be from floor level to eye level. You must meet the following special requirements: Physical Effort: Work is occasionally performed in an office environment but is generally performed in industrial environments including open dock areas. Work may require prolonged standing, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Lifting often may be from floor level to eye level. Working Conditions: Employee may work inside and outside the facility. Employee may come into contact with paper lint, dust, glue, ink, grease, and oil. The clerk is exposed to moderate noise levels form the various machines and conveyors. Earplugs may be worn in the work area. Industrial areas may not be climate controlled. Employee may work in areas that are damp, drafty, dusty or poorly lighted. The tools, equipment and heavy objects involved occasionally present chance of serious injury. AND TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. Education

A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected. If the position has specific education requirements and you currently hold, or have previously held, a position in the same job series with the IRS, there is no need to submit a transcript or equivalent at this time. Applicants are encouraged, but are not required, to submit an SF-50 documenting experience in a specific series.
