You will serve as a Supervisory Training Program Specialist, GS-1701-13 in the Training Department of MY NAVY CAREER CENTER.

Duties

You will recommend modifications to training in accordance with organizational statutes, policies, and/or regulations. You will determine long and short range impact of training requirements on mission-oriented programs. You will administer program for managing curriculum reviews. You will brief senior level leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apply analytical and evaluative methods and/or techniques to determine effectiveness of training; 2) Review training to ensure curriculum is aligned with program objectives; 3) Implement processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of instructional programs; and 4) Provide training metrics to senior leadership in order to aid in decision making for program needs. Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess one of the following:
  1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position; Or
  2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
