Duties

Provides instruction, assessment, and program planning for students with a range of moderate to severe disabilities. Differentiates instruction for individual student learning styles and unique learning needs. Serves as an informational resource for teachers, students, parents, district personnel, and community organizations. Documents student progress through the use of formative and summative assessment tools. Adheres to and implements safety and security procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
• Direct deposit of pay is required.
• Two year trial or probationary period may be required.
• Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
• This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Qualifications

Minimum Academic Preparation and Requirements: A major in special education or a minimum of 30 semester hours in special education is required. Course work must include a minimum of 12 semester hours directly related to severe and profound disabilities or intellectual disability.
