Duties

Assigns daily tasks and instructions to individuals of the work group from the supervisor, ensuring assigned staff are knowledgeable of operational leadership and they follow all safety and housekeeping rules. Oversees, demonstrates, and performs work such as cleaning and disinfecting restroom facilities, sinks, toilets, floors, walls, and ceilings along with others to set the work pace. Ensures all necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools are available when needed. Reports overall operations, progress, delays, and problems to supervisor and ensures FMSS daily work reports are correct prior to submittal to the Park Asset Manager. Serves as primary purchasing agent for all micro purchases supporting the multiple functions of the Division of Facility Management.

Assigning daily tasks and giving instructions to crew members orally, in writing or electronically. Answering crew member questions and communicating with supervisor to obtain information on problems that arise during project. Oversee and perform work such as cleaning and disinfecting restroom facilities, sinks, toilets, floors, walls, and ceilings. Clean, vacuum, strip and re-waxing floors using proper techniques and chemicals. Recommend operational needs per work requests to supervisor. Keeps equipment clean and organized. Reports any equipment problems to the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. You must meet level 2 on the screen out factor/element and an average of level 2 on all factors/elements. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies.
