National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Customer Support: Acts as senior coordinator for student support, provides policy and guidance to junior employees and International Fellows.
Field Studies: Participates in planning, execution, and improvement of the Field Studies Program in conjunction with the Field Studies Program Coordinator.
Outreach and Engagement: Assists in the management of the invitation and enrollment processes for international fellows, briefs senior leaders, stakeholders, and outgoing students on outreach and engagement programs.
Data Management: Serves as the database administrator, performs regular system maintenance, implements new functionalities, collects/enters/maintains data for reporting purposes.
Program Management: Leads the annual review of all program portfolios, gathers and compiles overall program data, develops collective program metrics and statistical information, and documenting costs of the program.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Travel away from the primary duty station is required approximately 60 days per academic year.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-09 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience with customer support, database administration, and program management.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
For the GS-11: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
