About the Position: Member of the Munson Army Health Center (MAHC) Department of Social Work Service (SWS) Family Advocacy Program (FAP) staff. Works as case manager, performs case work services and agency coordination in alleged and identified cases of child abuse and neglect and adult/intimate partner abuse and neglect.

Duties

Coordinate case work services in child and partner abuse and neglect cases. Apply knowledge of various case laws, system, function, and State Social Rehabilitation Services operational procedures. Provide intake services for suspected child and adult/intimate partner abuse. Interview patients, family members, and military representatives to obtain information. Report suspected child abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse allegations to Child Protective Services. Ensure treatment plan is carried out by the patient. Maintain documents, case records, and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assists to identify needs and individualized assistance and service appropriate to a variety of specific problems in a wide range of suspected child abuse and neglect OR adult/intimate partner abuse and neglect cases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
