You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of NAVSUPACT MONTEREY SEC DET.
The Installation Security Program Manager at Naval Support Activity Monterey (NSAM) holds a vital role in advising the Commanding Officer on all matters related to Naval Security Forces. This encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including physical security, manpower, equipment, operations, and anti-terrorism programs.
Duties
You will advise the Commanding Officer: Provide expert guidance and recommendations on matters concerning Naval Security Forces to ensure the highest level of security and safety.
You will provide Leadership and Coordination: Direct, administer, and coordinate the NSAM Security Department, which comprises both military and civilian Naval Security Force personnel.
You will develop Physical Security Methods: Innovate and establish robust physical security methods and safeguards to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
You will provide representation at Security Planning Conferences: Act as a representative of the command during security planning conferences for various security programs.
You will provide on-Site Security Verification: Conduct on-site visits to verify the adherence to established security procedures and protocols. Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, and take necessary measures to address them effectively.

Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Incumbent must meet the same standard for physical fitness as police officers, in the event incumbent might be called on to assist in an apprehension or threat situation, and must be physically fit.
- On occasion, more strenuous physical activity may be required.
- Frequent on-site visits to the field are performed to inspect crime scenes, evaluate security effectiveness, and to participate in security drills. Trips may take place at any hour of the day or night.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Providing management, antiterrorism and physical security program guidance; 2) Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting deadlines, priorities, and schedules for completion; 3) Reviewing work methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness; 4) Identifying and apply new technologies, theories and security concepts for defense of the installation and mitigation of vulnerabilities; 5) Overseeing local threat assessment information provided by other law enforcement and homeland security organizations.
