Duties

You will manage and coordinate a variety of support services essential to the direction and operation of events, engagements, and field programs. You will meet with internal and external stakeholders to ensure TSC planning is aligned with long-range strategic planning and scheduling. You will be responsible for the overall coordination of operational processes within the Strategic Engagement Division, ensuring that all coordination and support efforts come together for the timely execution of tasks. You will assist in the planning and execution of international trips and events when assigned. You will assist with developing event plans and processes. You will ensure that operational requirements for all TSC events and engagements are achieved. You will be responsible for development and management of long-range calendar for TSC and the Strategic Engagement Division. You will oversee Outlook calendar synchronization and fills in administrative roles as needed. You will deconflict events and engagement on the organization?s long-range calendar and provides solutions and resource allocation recommendations. You will schedule, organize, and lead planning and coordinating meetings. You will prepare documents and presentations for meetings, events, and engagements. You will assist with budget development. You will perform as lead project officer for events as directed. You will ensure that TSC resources are used properly and effectively and the TSC property is returned to the home station when necessary. You will assist event planners with the logistical aspects of engagement and outreach events, resident courses, conferences, and symposia. You will establish and maintain relationships with the organizations on the local installation, in the vicinity, and various divisions and staff with the TSC. You will attend syncs with various partners to include, JBER, DoD, Department of State, International Governments and organizations, International Embassies, State of Alaska, and local community partners and tribal governments. You will establish and nurture a vast network across local agencies, government, academia, and non-governmental organizations.

Qualifications

Senior Operations Specialist, GS-0301-11/12 The Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies (TSC) invites applicants to apply for the position of Senior Operations Specialist (SOS). This position is responsible for overseeing the long-range planning, operationalizing plans, deconflicting, internal and external resource identification, and coordination of TSC tasks. The SOS will also assist with planning functions, coordinating personnel resources, and providing accurate information to the TSC leadership team to ensure organizational readiness and appropriate deployment of resources. The SOS also supports the Public Affairs Officer, Protocol Officer, and Senior Event Planner with organizing, coordinating, and planning logistical requirements supporting TSC events, engagements, and field programs. For the GS-12 level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation of the program. For the GS-11 level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in the Strategic Engagement Division. Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
