About the Position: This is a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibration located at the Anniston Army Depot, TMDE ACTIVITY Group. The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Apply mathematical and statistical concepts to the analysis of measurement data. Analyze schematic drawings and compare design specs with measurement requirements. Apply electronic theory to effect repair of measurement equipment. Use standards to validate calibration accuracy of customer equipment. Analyze calibration data for a wide variety of complex general and special purpose test equipment. Determine proper operation of test equipment. Apply specific information such as correction factors when making measurements. Prepare test and certification reports for customer use.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Up to 10% travel for occasional deployment to forward area is required.
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing at least 10 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 40 pounds.
• This position requires a Pre-Appointment and Annual Physical.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Precision Measurement Equipment Calibration without more than normal supervision. I can analyze and use technical information in repair efforts. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds. Works in a sitting position for extended periods of time, and frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. May be exposed to hazards of high voltage, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Must comply with applicable safety regulations.
